Listen to your BODY


Why is it that we always put ourselves last? It's crazy but true!

When you feel a certain way physically, mentally, emotionally or spiritually honour it. Say NO if you have to. Invest the time into yourself. Maintain balance by listening to what your body is trying to tell you.

Do you suffer from recurring migraines, back pain, tiredness, dizziness etc.

Are you giving yourself the attention you need? If not then you are ignoring your body's call outs. It's imperative to our overall well-being to take time out for ourselves. To be self loving, to treat ourselves as we would treat our friends and family. Its not something to focus on for a few weeks. This is a lifestyle that should be adopted. Do not allow yourself to run on empty then fall ill to colds, flu, allergies, headaches, pains in the body..... Fill your cup first, before you fill anyone else. This is of course with exception if you are looking after young children. It doesn't matter if you are a busy parent, or your working all hours you still have time to self focus and give yourself what it is you need in order to fill your energy up and attend to your needs.

Simple things, slow down, there is no need to charge on like heavy cavalry every day all day. If you feel tired, take a nap, if not possible make it your intention to have an early night or do some meditation that evening to bring you balance. If you need a haircut, get one! If you have dental appointment go. If you need a break for 24 hours

"If you don't ask, you don't get" It doesn't need to cost money to give yourself what you need, its more about responding to the needs that your body asks for. I am also not suggesting that you jump ship every-time you feel a certain way, I am asking for you to take note that you are feeling a certain way and then when you get the chance apply it. Don't put it off, this only leads to a heavy load of issues that your body eventually cry's out for. Did you know that stress is a contributing factor to illness. Listen to your body, and when you feel a certain way, don't ignore it and think it will go away, honour it and honour yourself. How many time have you ignored your bodies callings? How many time have you fallen ill of late? Do you fall ill often? Answer these questions honestly and work out a plan of action. CHANGE! Carry a journal and pen with you when you can, this is to take notes. You'll want to develop a self care practice. You'll want to Meditate. It doesn't matter if you've never meditated before, all you require is to be quiet and feel your body. Where are your aches and pains, where feels heavy, tight, and painful? Is your eyes heavy and you could be doing with an early night. It's a great practice to tune into YOU. So put this into place and adopt it into your life. You'll be all the brighter and lighter for it. "It's about knowing who you are. It's about recognizing what exhausts you."
